Zen Garden reflects the quiet beauty of imperfection, where nature is never still. Like patterns on the sand evoking a sense of water without ever containing it. The 26 letters were formed by raking sand in the manner of a dry landscape garden, their paths scanned and used as grids for typesetting. Through cycles of scanning and printing, the letterforms grew rougher, shaped by process alone, just as a Zen garden is sculpted by time and touch. Manually embossed onto the pages, the letters are not merely seen but felt.
